To create that information a large number of different IT solutions define, generate, distribute and interpret the information. Unfortunately there is no world standard that governs the information flow and large integrated systems as well as small stand alone solutions are installed to try to meet the needs without that much coordination.
DOITS Role is to influence harmoniZation AND STANDARDIZATION.
DOITS role is to push for harmonization and standardization of critical logistics related truck and trailer generated data and measures that are used in the industry. Proprietary solutions create confusion amongst users who find it difficult to make full use of the potential.
DOITS is a forum with companies from the logistics industry that have committed themselves to work for more openness in sharing harmonized data and parameters.
